Director of Nursing

Regency Wenatchee Rehabilitation and Nursing Center

Salary: $135,000–$150,000 annually

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead the clinical operations of a five-star skilled nursing community.

The Director of Nursing will partner closely with an experienced Administrator, Regional Director of Nursing and established clinical team. This position is responsible for maintaining strong clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, appropriate staffing and a resident-centered culture throughout the nursing department.

The ideal candidate is a visible, hands‑on clinical leader who can develop staff, establish accountability and maintain consistent standards of care while supporting residents, families and the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the daily clinical operations of the skilled nursing facility.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate individualized resident care plans.
  • Establish and monitor clinical goals, nursing policies and standards of practice.
  • Ensure nursing services deliver high-quality care while protecting resident rights.
  • Recruit, supervise, coach and develop RNs, LPNs, CNAs and other clinical team members.
  • Maintain staffing levels consistent with resident acuity and federal and state requirements.
  • Hold clinical employees accountable for performance, professional conduct and quality standards.
  • Oversee survey readiness and compliance with CMS, Washington State and federal regulations.
  • Monitor clinical documentation, resident assessments, incident reporting and quality measures.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives.
  • Support infection prevention, risk management and resident safety programs.
  • Maintain effective communication with residents, families, physicians, pharmacy providers and outside healthcare partners.
  • Manage the nursing department budget in partnership with the Administrator.
  • Provide staff education and promote ongoing clinical development.
  • Work collaboratively with rehabilitation, MDS, social services and other department leaders.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
  • Current Washington Registered Nurse license in good standing, or the ability to obtain Washington licensure.
  • At least two years of geriatric, skilled nursing or long‑term‑care nursing experience.
  • At least two years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with staff development, scheduling, budgeting and clinical performance management.
  • Working knowledge of the MDS process, CMS requirements and state and federal survey standards.
  • Strong understanding of clinical documentation, care planning and quality improvement.
  • Ability to lead independently while working collaboratively with facility and regional leadership.
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn company clinical systems.

Washington law requires the Director of Nursing for a nursing facility to be a registered nurse or advanced practice registered nurse and assigns responsibility for coordinating resident care plans and overseeing licensed nursing practice.
