Job summary

Polaris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Milford, Delaware, is seeking a dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and inspire clinical teams. This 100-bed skilled facility operates within the Milford Wellness Village, offering a state-of-the-art ventilator unit and a collaborative campus environment.

The DON will drive clinical excellence, develop nursing talent, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license.
• Minimum three years of nursing supervisory or Director of Nursing experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to develop and motivate nursing teams.
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local long-term care regulations.
• Commitment to clinical excellence, quality improvement, and resident-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all nursing operations, ensuring exceptional resident care and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitor clinical quality indicators, identify trends, and implement corrective action plans.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
• Oversee nursing staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain appropriate coverage and quality care.
• Lead, mentor, and develop nursing leadership and staff while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and compassion.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes and operational effectiveness.
• Maintain survey readiness and oversee clinical documentation standards.
