Exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced medical team within a growing federally qualified community health center. HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc . “The Heart of Our Community” provides comprehensive services including adult/pediatric medical care, health education, health assessment and screenings, gynecology, cardiology, behavioral health, substance use treatment, and adult/pediatric dental care.

Director of Nursing Summary

Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Director of Nursing is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of nursing services across the continuum of care to ensure high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance with licensing and credentialing. Works with multidisciplinary departments to ensure and facilitate compliance with PCMH, Quality Measures, HRSA, DPH, UDS, Infection Control and other regulatory bodies. Assists CMO in establishing standards of service, implementing policies and procedures, and developing organization plans to carry out activities within limits of available funds and to improve the quality of care for patients.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university, required.
  • Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) License from the Massachusetts Nursing Board of Registration
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience in a community health center, ambulatory care, public health, primary care office or similar and at least three (3) years of progressive healthcare leader experience, required.
  • Experience in case management and substance use disorders preferred.
  • Experience working with Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred but not necessary.
  • Current certification in CPR at the healthcare provider level of the American Heart Association required.
  • Must submit CORI and a Query investigation through the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) and demonstrate proof of being free from disqualifying information.
  • Good computer skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. Electronic Medical Record experience required.
  • Proven record of outstanding clinical and assessment skills required.
  • Budgeting experience and ability to address and adjust for budget variances.
  • Projects positive attitude about the department and the health center.
  • Excels at relationship building and possess strong leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and time management skills to effectively communicate with leadership, subordinates, and patients.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulatory information.
  • Ability to manage confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Works well under pressure to manage stressful situations.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate.
