Job summary

Ilocatum is seeking a Director of Nursing (RN) to lead and oversee clinical care standards in a home health setting. The ideal candidate will supervise nursing staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop operational policies to deliver high-quality care.

The role requires an active NJ RN license, BSN or equivalent, and substantial experience in home health or community settings. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with a valid driver’s license

Qualifications

• RN licensed in good standing by state Board of Nursing (NJ)
• BSN or related field with at least 2 years RN experience in home health/community settings
• In lieu of BSN, 3 years RN experience with progressive responsibilities in community/home health
• Strong knowledge of NJ nursing laws, regulations, and compliance standards
• Excellent prioritization, multitasking, and organization in a dynamic environment
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to perform required nursing duties in client homes and maintain leadership resilience

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of home care services reflecting agency standards and monitor client clinical status
• Assign nurses to visits; manage per-diem supervisor budget; participate in hiring and orientation
• Evaluate nurse supervisors and care partners
• Ensure safe, high-quality home care with compliance to all regulations
• Perform client assessments at various stages of care
• Develop and deliver in-service training for staff
• Coordinate with community agencies to ensure continuity of care
• Be available by phone and conduct home visits during on-call hours
• Maintain professionalism and represent the organization at community events
• Report to the CEO

Director of Nursing

Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000 per year

Job Type: Full-Time, On-site

Location: Fair Lawn, NJ

A premier home health agency is seeking an experienced, leadership-minded Director of Nursing (RN) to oversee clinical care standards and lead their dedicated nursing team. In this pivotal role, you will manage and supervise nursing staff, ensure strict regulatory compliance, and develop operational policies to deliver exceptional, high-quality care in a home setting. This role also oversees all care partners, providing the guidance, support, and direction necessary for optimal care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the delivery of home care services that reflect agency philosophy and standards. Actively monitor the clinical status of all clients
• Manage the assignment of nurses to client visits, optimize the per diem nurse supervisor budget, and assist in the hiring process (interviewing, orientation, competency testing)
• Evaluate nurse supervisors and care partners
• Ensure the safe and high-quality delivery of home care services. Maintain strict adherence to local, state, federal, and HIPAA regulations
• Perform client assessments as needed during any stage of the client relationship, including initial assessments, monitoring visits, re-assessments, or discharges
• Develop the agency’s In-Service training program and coordinate guest presenters or directly deliver educational content to all staff
• Coordinate with community agencies to provide continuity of care. Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and Care Partners
• Remain available via telephone to provide guidance and conduct home visits, if necessary, during designated Agency On-Call Hours
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude, actively participate in office meetings, and proudly represent the organization at community events
• Reports to the CEO

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing issued by the New Jersey Board of Nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related health-related field with at least 2 years of professional RN experience in community or home health settings
• In lieu of a BSN degree: 3 years of professional RN experience in community health and/or home health, featuring progressive nursing responsibilities
• Proven background providing nursing services across patient home environments and assisted living facilities, with expert-level knowledge of New Jersey rules, regulations, and state compliance standards for nursing leadership
• Exceptional prioritization, multitasking, and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a dynamic environment
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Physical capability to perform required nursing duties (lifting, bending, standing) and the leadership resilience needed to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress care environment
