Job summary

NHC Palmettos Charleston is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations for a geriatric population in Charleston, SC. The DON will oversee nursing practice, staff development, and quality care delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate has RN or LPN licensure in South Carolina with leadership experience in geriatrics, nursing administration, and a collaborative, compassionate approach.

Qualifications

• RN or LPN licensed to practice in South Carolina.
• Experience in geriatrics and nursing administration.
• Caring, compassionate, positive attitude and teamwork.
• Prior DON experience preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in nursing administration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clinical competency and leadership in nursing.
• Utilize nursing process in assessment, planning and care.
• Exhibit organizational ability to manage workflow and patient care needs.

Qualifications:

• RN OR LPN – graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice nursing in South Carolina (Baccalaureate or Master’s degree in nursing is preferred).
• Must have professional experience in the practice of geriatrics, nursing administration, and other related areas
• Must be caring, compassionate, have a positive attitude and be a team player
• Prior experience as a DON preferred, but not required
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in the areas of nursing administration, nursing practice, rehabilitation and partner relations management.
