Job summary

The Palmettos of Charleston in Charleston, SC is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead clinical services for our senior care community. This full-time role focuses on nursing administration, patient care quality, and team leadership within a compassionate, team-oriented environment.

The DON will oversee nursing practice, coordinate rehabilitation and partner relations, maintain clinical competency, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring regulatory compliance and resident well-being.

Qualifications

• Active SC RN or LPN license (Baccalaureate or MS preferred).
• Experience in geriatrics and nursing administration.
• Caring, compassionate, team player.
• DON experience preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated leadership in nursing admin, practice, rehab, partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clinical competency via nursing knowledge and leadership.
• Utilize nursing process in assessment, planning, and care delivery.
• Prioritize patient care needs through workflow management.
• Engage in ongoing quality improvement and problem solving.
• Lead nursing administration, practice, rehab and partner relations.

Qualifications:

• RN OR LPN – graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice nursing in South Carolina (Baccalaureate or Master’s degree in nursing is preferred).
• Must have professional experience in the practice of geriatrics, nursing administration, and other related areas
• Must be caring, compassionate, have a positive attitude and be a team player
• Prior experience as a DON preferred, but not required
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in the areas of nursing administration, nursing practice, rehabilitation and partner relations management.
