Job summary

NHC is seeking a Director of Nursing in Charleston, SC. You will lead nursing services, oversee clinical operations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compassionate, high‑quality care for our residents.

Qualifications

• Active SC RN or LPN license and graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Geriatrics and nursing administration experience required.
• Demonstrated leadership, compassion, and teamwork.
• DON preferred but not required; strong supervisory skills essential.

• Maintain clinical competency and nursing leadership across shifts.
• Oversee nursing practice, assessment, planning, and patient care.
• Lead workflow organization to meet patient needs and priorities.

Position: Director of Nursing

Qualifications:

• RN OR LPN - graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice nursing in South Carolina (Baccalaureate or Master's degree in nursing is preferred).
• Must have professional experience in the practice of geriatrics, nursing administration, and other related areas
• Must be caring, compassionate, have a positive attitude and be a team player
• Prior experience as a DON preferred, but not required
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in the areas of nursing administration, nursing practice, rehabilitation and partner relations management.
