Redmont Health & Rehabilitation Center in Birmingham, Alabama, seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team and promote excellent resident care, regulatory compliance, and staff development. The DON will oversee nursing services, support staff, and partner with the administrator to drive performance and quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and a commitment to resident-centered care within a 163-bed skilled nursing

Qualifications

• Current Alabama RN license in good standing.
• Previous DON or senior nursing leadership experience.
• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and clinical compliance.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain nursing teams.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for all nursing services and resident care.
• Mentor and support nursing leadership and direct-care teams.
• Oversee clinical services, resident care, and department operations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Drive quality outcomes and continuous clinical improvement.

Redmont Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced and inspiring Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team. Our Birmingham community provides short-term rehabilitation, long-term skilled nursing, memory care, and innovative therapy services, including AI and VR-supported therapy. What You Will Do

The Director of Nursing will provide leadership and direction for all nursing services while promoting excellent resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead, mentor, and support the nursing leadership and direct‑care teams

• Oversee clinical services, resident care, and nursing department operations

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

• Promote strong quality outcomes and continuous clinical improvement

• Partner closely with the Nursing Home Administrator and interdisciplinary team

• Support recruitment, retention, orientation, and development of nursing staff

• Monitor staffing, clinical documentation, infection prevention, and resident safety

• Build positive relationships with residents, families, employees, and community partners

• Create a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and accountable

What We Are Looking For

• Current Alabama Registered Nurse license in good standing

• Previous Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or senior nursing leadership experience

• Skilled nursing, long-term care, or post‑acute care experience strongly preferred

• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and clinical compliance standards

• Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain successful nursing teams

• Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills

• A hands‑on leadership style with a genuine commitment to teamwork and resident‑centered care
