Job summary

The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts (LCVA) at Longwood University in Farmville seeks a Director of Administrative Operations to manage facilities, budget, and visitor services while upholding AAM accreditation standards.

The role partners with the Executive Director, coordinates donor relations, budgeting, scheduling, and staff supervision, and requires occasional night/weekend work on campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in arts or museum studies from an accredited institution.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Ability to work with diverse university and community stakeholders.
• Occasional nights and weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities, security, climate control, and safety per museum standards.
• Apply AAM standards and ensure accreditation compliance.
• Recruit and supervise student workers and onboarding.
• Manage facilities daily operations and business continuity.
• Coordinate budget planning, donor relations, and reporting.
• Maintain donor database and Raiser's Edge records.
• Plan and attend LCVA advisory board meetings and events.
