Job summary

Toole Design seeks an Engineering Director in Oakland, CA to lead design and delivery of multimodal transportation projects that improve safety and mobility. You will guide civil design from reconstructions to trails, mentor staff, and expand client relationships across California with a collaborative, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of engineering experience with multimodal and streetscape projects.
• 10+ years leading projects and teams, with client relationship management.
• License in CA PE or TE and local/regional consulting experience with Caltrans coordination and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of multimodal transportation projects from concept through construction.
• Mentor junior staff and lead stakeholder engagement across California.
• Support business development and client relationships for California and the West.
