Job summary

Toole Design in Minneapolis, MN seeks an Engineering Director to lead the Midwest practice and guide a talented team delivering multimodal transportation projects that improve livability. This strategic leader will enjoy big-picture thinking, mentorship, and pursuing work with strong client outcomes.

You'll shape regional growth, manage key pursuits, and strengthen relationships with local agencies, ensuring designs meet regional standards and exceed expectations.

Qualifications

• PE license and local/regional consulting experience.
• 15+ years in multimodal design including conceptual design and construction documents.
• 10+ years in project/design management and business development.
• Strong client relationship skills with a proven track record of winning work.
• Expertise in street design, construction documents, cost estimating, and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Mentor staff and project teams while overseeing the design and delivery of multimodal transportation projects.
• Shape regional marketing and growth strategies, identify key pursuits, and strengthen client relationships.
• Understand local agencies, decision-makers, and regional standards to drive project success.
