Job summary

YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley is seeking a dynamic Program Director to lead Membership and Personal Training at the LeClaire YMCA in LeClaire, IA. This role focuses on growing membership, developing wellness programs, and supervising staff to deliver high-quality services that align with our mission.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 2+ years in personal training, and nationally recognized certifications, along with CPR/First Aid/AED.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years prior experience personal training.
• Leadership or staff supervision experience preferred.
• Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of exercise science, fitness assessments, and exercise programming.
• Nationally recognized personal training certification (AFAA, ACE, NSCA, NASM, or ACSM Personal Training certification(s).
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification (required before hire).

Responsibilities

• Lead membership recruitment, engagement, and retention.
• Develop and oversee personal training and wellness programs.
• Recruit, train, coach, and supervise membership and personal training staff.
• Build relationships with members and create a welcoming, member-focused environment.
• Promote YMCA programs, services, and community engagement.
• Manage department budgets, schedules, and daily operations.
• Model the YMCA mission, values, and SPARK culture.
