Job summary

Prairie Island Indian Community seeks a Director of Membership Services to lead Enrollment, Elder programs, and related services. You will supervise staff, coordinate programming, monitor budgets, and ensure compliance with Tribal policies.

The role requires a strong background in administration and community services, with at least eight years of management experience. The position offers hybrid work after six months and opportunities for collaboration with Tribal Administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business administration, public administration, communications, human services, community development, or related field; or combination of education and professional experience in education, Tribal enrollment, or grant management.
• Minimum eight years of management experience in administration, program coordination, and/or community services.
• Strong leadership and personnel management skills with ability to establish staff accountability and maintain a positive working environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to prepare reports and present technical information.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a management team and government structure.
• Demonstrated ability to work respectfully within a Tribal government and Native American community.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability; must pass drug screen and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervision, management and coordination of assigned Membership Services programs and functions.
• Plan, coordinate and attend programming, activities, meetings and events for assigned functions.
• Provide supervision, direction and development to assigned staff.
• Develop and monitor departmental goals, policies, procedures and priorities.
• Assist with monitoring budgets, expenditures, purchasing, invoices and fiscal accountability.
• Prepare and maintain reports, records and documentation for assigned programs.
• Coordinate with Tribal Administration and other parties regarding programs and activities.
• Develop and implement planning, scheduling and coordinating of department activities.
• Ensure programs comply with Tribal policies, funding requirements and applicable laws.
• Represent Membership Services professionally at meetings and events.
