Job summary

Xavier University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks a Director of Medical Education to lead the Department of Medical Education and coordinate curriculum across MD and COMLEX-related testing.

The role includes supervising Medical Education Specialists, coordinating Canvas and assessment workflows, ensuring COCA and HLC accreditation readiness, and partnering with senior leaders to advance teaching and assessment quality in Cincinnati.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Education or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in medical education with progressive responsibility.
• Experience with NBOME/NBME exams and in-house testing is desirable.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software.

Director of Medical Education

The College of Osteopathic Medicine at Xavier University (XUCOM), a Catholic University in the Jesuit tradition, invites applications for a 12-month position beginning in the late summer/early fall 2026. The Director of Medical Education oversees the Department of Medical Education, supervising the Medical Education Specialists and coordinating all elements related to the department in serving the medical student curriculum as well as the Master of Arts in Biomedical Science curriculum. This position supports faculty classroom instruction and testing including compiling and formatting all classroom exams, administering and grading exams, maintaining and calculating grades, posting of all teaching materials to Canvas courses, and administering class assessments. This position works closely with the Associate Dean for Curricular Assessment and Quality, other Biomedical & Clinical Division Chairs and the Associate Dean of Faculty and Medical Programs. This position reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Education or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in medical education with progressive responsibility contributing to successful delivery and assessment of the curriculum is preferred.
• Experience with delivering self-assessment exams from the NBOME or NBME as well as delivering in-house examinations using ExamSoft is desirable.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
