Job summary

Core States Group is seeking a Director of Mechanical Engineering to lead the mechanical engineering discipline within the Architecture and Engineering business unit. You will coordinate projects, manage personnel, drive business development, and oversee proposals and contracts to deliver client-focused solutions.

This role requires a PE license, a mechanical engineering degree, 15+ years in the A/E/C field, and 8+ years of leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• P.E. licensure required.
• 15+ years of mechanical engineering project/program management in the A/E/C environment.
• Experience with retail or restaurant projects.
• 8+ years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Engineering consulting process, establishing primary client contact and ensuring strong relationships and delivery of exceptional service.
• Participate in business development efforts, including attending marketing events and cross-marketing with other offices.
• Oversee initial program investigations to assess feasibility and requirements.
• Prepare and negotiate proposals and contracts with clients and sub-consultants.
• Manage and lead Senior Program Managers and Program Managers; ensure timelines are met and communicated to clients.
• Analyze data to support decision-making and implement KPI-aligned practices.
• Mentor, develop, and support staff to foster growth and performance.
• Other duties as required.
