Job summary

Leoforce, a leading engineering consulting firm in New York, is seeking a Director of Mechanical Engineering PE to provide strategic leadership over complex mechanical infrastructure projects. The role requires a NY-licensed PE, 15–20 years in MEP, and 6–10+ years of leadership, with travel about 20% for project oversight across healthcare, higher education, and institutional clients.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) License in NY is required.
15–20 years of experience in MEP engineering.
6–10+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
Demonstrated experience with healthcare, higher education, and institutional projects.
Willingness to travel approximately 20% overnight travel.

Responsibilities

Act as the senior authority on mechanical system and central plant design initiatives.
Lead feasibility studies, conceptual development, and detailed engineering for central utility plants and various systems.
Oversee HVAC design for large, complex facilities.
Establish and maintain engineering standards, QA/QC protocols, and design best practices.
Direct multiple engagements, manage budgets, timelines, and staffing.
