Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Director of Mechanical Engineering & Design to provide strategic and technical leadership across complex mechanical infrastructure projects in the New York market and beyond. The role requires a PE license, extensive leadership experience, and a track record managing multidisciplinary teams delivering large-scale facilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Active NY PE license (Professional Engineer).
15-20 years of experience in MEP engineering.
6-10+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
Willingness to travel ~20% overnight.
Experience with healthcare, higher education, and institutional projects.

Responsibilities

Act as the senior authority on mechanical system and central plant design initiatives.
Lead feasibility studies, conceptual development, and detailed engineering for central utility plants and major systems.
Oversee HVAC design for large, complex facilities.
Establish and maintain engineering standards, QA/QC, and design best practices.
Review and approve technical deliverables across projects.
Direct multiple engagements from system analyses to large capital programs.
