Job summary

Hadrian is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering leader to build and scale the team responsible for Hadrian’s automation equipment. You will lead design from concept through production, mentoring engineers and delivering robust systems for high‑volume manufacturing.

You’ll work across controls, software, and operations, driving design standards and introducing AI‑assisted workflows to accelerate improvement and reliability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years designing automation equipment, including several years leading mechanical engineers.
• Proven record of delivering automation equipment from concept through commissioning on production lines.
• Deep mechanical design skills: mechanisms, fixtures, EOAT, tolerance stacks, machine safety.
• Ability to grow engineers and earn the trust of technicians and operators who build and run designs.
• Experience using AI in engineering workflows and pushing teams to adopt new methods.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead and grow the mechanical engineering team that designs Hadrian’s automation equipment, mentoring and career growth.
• Deliver machines, fixtures, end-of-arm tooling and material handling from concept through build, commissioning and production run-in.
• Set design standards and run design reviews covering CAD, drawings, GD&T, DfM/DFx, and machine safety.
• Stay hands-on: review designs and fixtures, work through layouts, and make hard technical calls.
• Decide what to design in-house vs. buy; plan equipment budget and manage vendors/integrators.
• Partner with controls, software, manufacturing and factory ops; bring AI tools into design workflow.
