Job summary

Priester Aviation in Wheeling, IL is seeking a Director of Maintenance to lead a growing maintenance organization and implement scalable, compliant processes and technology. You will oversee airworthiness, scheduling, and vendor management while driving cost efficiency and reliability across a 70+ aircraft fleet with ambitions to expand.

The role requires extensive FAA regulatory knowledge, A&P certification, and a proven track record in large-scale maintenance leadership within Part 135/Part

Qualifications

• 15+ years of aviation maintenance experience, including 5+ years in a management or supervisory role.
• Experience in Part 135 or Part 121 operations involving aircraft carrying 10+ passengers.
• Experience implementing maintenance technology, systems, or workflow improvements with measurable results.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate required; 14 CFR § 119.71 compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 7–10 years of equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Maintenance organization and develop a scalable, compliant operation.
• Design and implement technology-enabled maintenance workflows and processes.
• Oversee airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and quality management programs.
• Manage maintenance tracking and audits, approving cost and vendor activities.
• Serve as primary liaison with FAA and regulatory bodies.
