Elderwood Village at Colonie in Colonie, NY is seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Maintenance to lead the maintenance, physical plant, grounds, and life safety operations of our 94-bed assisted living community.

You will oversee day-to-day maintenance, preventative maintenance, life safety compliance, staff supervision, budget controls, and coordination with Administration to keep residents safe and comfortable during renovations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in physical plant, electrical, plumbing, carpentry or HVAC maintenance.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience including hiring and scheduling staff.
• Extensive knowledge of Life Safety Codes and NFPA; OSHA experience preferred.
• Familiarity with using computer programs to place orders and manage inventory.
• Valid, current driver license in good standing.

Responsabilités

• Plan, direct, and supervise the maintenance program for the facility, grounds, equipment and vehicles.
• Oversee heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Perform and coordinate repairs in carpentry, painting, flooring, and general maintenance.
• Oversee grounds, parking, snow removal, and site upkeep as applicable.
• Schedule preventative maintenance and manage work orders in the system.
• Monitor inventory and requisition supplies, equipment and materials.
• Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate maintenance staff; supervise contractors.
• Partner with Administration to identify facility needs and address concerns.
• Help maintain compliance with Life Safety Codes and NFPA standards.
