Job summary

Elderwood Village at Colonie, part of Elderwood, is seeking a hands-on Director of Maintenance to lead the 94-bed community's maintenance, grounds, and life safety operations. The role oversees staff, preventive maintenance, and coordination with facility leadership to keep residents safe and comfortable.

Renovations on our Colonie campus present an exciting chance to drive improvements while ensuring minimal resident disruption.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in physical plant, electrical, plumbing, carpentry or HVAC maintenance.
• Supervisory experience with hiring/training/scheduling staff.
• Extensive Life Safety Codes and NFPA knowledge; OSHA awareness.
• Proficient with computer programs to manage orders and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the facility maintenance program and staff.
• Oversee building systems: heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, and safety.
• Coordinate repairs, preventive maintenance, and new equipment installations.
• Maintain records and supervise outside contractors as needed.
• Ensure life safety compliance and budgetary discipline.
