Job summary

Capital City Gardens is seeking a full-time Maintenance Director to lead the Maintenance Department and ensure safe, reliable operations across all units and shifts.

The role requires hands-on skills in carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing, plus knowledge of Fire and Life Safety and a valid driver’s license. You will oversee policies, procedures, and cross-department coordination to support residents and staff.

Qualifications

• One year of maintenance experience.
• Skills in carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing.
• Knowledge of Fire and Life Safety.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, and direct the Maintenance Department.
• Monitors the performance of maintenance staff by observing staff on all units, on all shifts and interviewing facility staff, residents, and families. Performs quality assurance functions, including regular compliance rounds.
• Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the facility policies
• Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures.
• Assist the maintenance staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Review the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions and make recommendations to the Administrator.
• Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.).
