Job summary

YMCA of Frederick County is seeking an Executive Director of Licensed Childcare to provide strategic and operational oversight of childcare programs across the association. This role leads the childcare leadership team, partners with HR to recruit and develop staff, and ensures safety, quality and inclusive experiences for children and families.

The position emphasizes program growth, financial sustainability, licensing compliance and strong community partnerships within the YMCA system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• Minimum of five years of staff management experience.
• Experience aligning programs to youth development and YMCA standards.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups and maintain professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead Licensed Childcare programs across Before/After Care, summer and Kids Unlimited programs.
• Develop and implement program objectives, services and strategies to support growth, quality and sustainability.
• Ensure licensed programs comply with regulations, licensing requirements and YMCA policies.
• Recruit, coach and develop staff; promote a positive, inclusive team culture.
• Oversee budgets, enrollment, participation metrics and customer feedback.
