Job summary

Gwynedd Mercy University seeks a Director of Assessment & Continuous Improvement to oversee the assessment of academic programs and student learning outcomes across on-campus and off-campus offerings. This role collaborates with deans, Institutional Research, IOAC, and accrediting bodies to ensure aligned data collection and reporting.

The DACI will monitor assessment practices, support continuous improvement in student life and non-academic units, and manage documentation for accreditation

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree preferred; Master’s degree with significant experience related to the duties described.
• Understanding of, and acquaintance with, the overarching policies relating to assessment of student learning outcomes, the requirements of governmental and accrediting agencies, and specific and effective assessment practices.
• Significant administrative experience in higher education preferred, particularly in the area of academic assessment.
• Demonstrated competence with electronic systems is essential.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, statistical reports and government regulations.
• Ability to work cooperatively with diverse student and faculty populations and with administrative colleagues.
• Ability to apply principles of logic and scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and serve as the point person for all academic assessment activities for the university, including assessment of academic programs, student and program learning outcomes.
• Support continuous improvement in assessing activities for co-curricular activities, student life, and other non-academic units.
• Oversee the student evaluation system (IDEA).
• Ensure assessment procedures and reporting conform to external agency requirements.
• Monitor assessment of student learning with deans, and ensure faculty adhere to assessment policies and timetable.
