Rural Metro Fire Department in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Manager/Director of IT Operations to oversee cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure, IAM, and IT service management for a distributed, 24/7 public safety network.

This leadership role will govern MSP partners, define security requirements, and drive modernization across networks, cloud, and field technology while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and industry best practices.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Seven or more years of progressive IT experience, including three or more years leading IT operations.
• Experience building or maturing a cybersecurity program with framework alignment and incident response.
• Working knowledge of CMMC and NIST standards with ability to interpret controls and assess gaps.
• Microsoft ecosystem experience: Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Defender.

Responsabilidades

• Own MSP oversight, service management, and team leadership for SOC, Helpdesk, and project support.
• Define and maintain IT service management processes across internal and MSP-delivered services; establish KPIs and reporting.
• Lead and develop internal IT operations staff; ensure alignment with business and public safety applications owners.
• Serve as Information Security Officer; coordinate with auditors, regulators, and insurers.
• Own architecture and operation of networks, servers, storage, backups, and cloud platforms.
