Job summary

Softrams, a Tria Federal Company, is seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead IT strategy, security, and operations for a federal contracting environment. The role oversees infrastructure, cloud collaboration, helpdesk, procurement, and compliance, with hybrid work from Woodlawn, MD or Clarendon, VA on a weekly cadence.

The position requires a seasoned leader with extensive experience across enterprise networking, cloud platforms, and regulatory frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in IT roles spanning infrastructure, networking, service delivery, or IT operations.
• 5+ years in a senior IT leadership capacity, including direct management of helpdesk or support functions and accountability for service levels
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple device fleets - macOS and Windows - at scale, including MDM platforms, configuration baselines, and cross-platform security compliance
• Demonstrated experience managing or co-managing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Hands-on expertise across enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, firewalls), endpoint management, and cloud productivity platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Entra ID / Azure AD)
• Working knowledge of compliance frameworks applicable to federal contractors - NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, FISMA context, CMMI and CUI handling requirements
• Demonstrated experience managing hardware and software procurement, SaaS portfolios, vendor contracts, and IT budgets
• Experience supporting a distributed workforce across multiple facilities, remote staff, and contractor populations
• Track recordof improving IT service through automation, self-service, standardization, or ITSM best practices (e.g., ITIL)
• Excellent communication skills, equally effective with executives, technical staff, and non-technical employees, with a genuine service orientation

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, operation, and improvement of enterprise IT infrastructure, including networking across all facilities
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery plans with defined SLAs and tested Business Continuity
• Manage identity and access infrastructure in partnership with Cyber Security
• Plan infrastructure upgrades with minimal disruption
• Standardize and automate infrastructure management for auditability and speed
• Partner with Cloud Practice to jointly manage cloud environments
• Coordinate with Cloud Practice on provisioning and lifecycle management for tooling
• Align cost visibility and subscription governance across IT and cloud spend
• Establish joint escalation and change management with Cloud Practice
• Lead the helpdesk team and own the employee technology lifecycle
• Establish service metrics and drive continuous improvement
• Build knowledge base and self-service tooling
• Serve as escalation point for critical incidents
• Procurement, vendor & asset management including licenses and renewals
• Develop and manage IT budget and drive efficiency without compromising security
• Compliance, Certifications & Corporate Security responsibilities
• Innovation Enablement & Agility to adopt AI-enabled productivity tools under guardrails
• People & Team Leadership including coaching and career development
