Job summary

The City of New York’s Department of Investigation seeks a senior leader to oversee the Law Enforcement Technology Technical Services Unit (TSU). You’ll supervise a team delivering technical assistance and operation support for investigations, deploying surveillance gear and handling lawful electronic surveillance per orders.

You will collaborate with investigators, testify in court when needed, and occasionally work non-traditional hours to meet mission needs.

Qualifications

• Four-year high school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent.
• Preferred degrees in forensic computing, CS, security, or related engineering.
• Experience with digital evidence tools and investigative hardware.

Responsibilities

• Oversee LET TSU, supervise staff, and provide technical support to investigative units.
• Deploy, operate, and maintain surveillance and monitoring equipment in compliance with court orders.
• Support audio/video/data capture operations for investigations.
• Testify in court as required.
• Work non-traditional hours as needed and complete thorough reports.
