Job summary

The Director Infection Prevention at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball leads the hospital's infection prevention program, develops strategies, and ensures CMS/TJC compliance. This role supervises Infection Preventionists and partners with hospital leadership to protect patients and staff.

You will oversee epidemiologic studies, risk assessments, and performance improvement projects. A CIC certification and RN license are required, with Masters and Bachelors degrees also required.

Qualifications

• CIC certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN license required for nursing practice.
• Master's degree required; field is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required; field is preferred.
• Two years of management or supervisory experience.
• Three to five years of infection prevention and control experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements all aspects of the infection control plan per CDC, CMS/TJC/OSHA guidelines.
• Supports directors and managers in regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness.
• Leads epidemiological studies, failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), and performance improvement projects related to infection control.
• Uses microbiology knowledge to manage infectious organisms and surveillance systems.
• Supervises Infection Preventionists.
