Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in Tallahassee, FL, seeks an Infection Preventionist to identify, investigate, monitor, and report healthcare-associated infections across the system.

The role collaborates with clinical teams to sustain infection prevention strategies, report findings, and support patient safety initiatives. Required RN license in Florida, CIC within 2 years, and at least 2 years of infection prevention experience; two years acute care hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field.
• RN license in Florida.
• CIC certification within two years post-hire.

• Two years of acute care hospital experience preferred.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

• Baccalaureate degree in:
• Nursing
• Public Health
• Epidemiology
• Clinical laboratory science
• Medical Technology
• Another related medical field.

Required Experience:

• Two (2) years of relevant infection prevention and control experience.

Preferred Experience:

• Two (2) years acute care hospital experience.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act).
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC®) credential from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) within two (2) years post-hire.

Preferred Certification/License/Registry:

• Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act).
• CIC® credential from the CBIC at hire.
