Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years in clinical setting required.
• 2+ years in leadership role required.
• 5+ years in infection control required.
• Certification in Infection Control required.
• Knowledge in epidemiological principles and infectious disease; knowledge in sterilization/sanitation/disinfection practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate and manage the review and assessment functions of the infection control program.
• Initiate, develop and deliver education programs on infection control and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and healthcare community on infection prevention issues.
• Perform targeted surveillance and prepare reports on healthcare-associated infection rates.
• Develop and promote consistent application of infection prevention policies and procedures.
• Support emergency management activities and participate in environmental rounds and planning.
• Identify community and hospital-acquired infections and report to Florida Division of Public Health.
