Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee Import, Export, and Warehouse operations at our JFK facility. You will lead diverse teams, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance in a fast-paced logistics environment supporting life sciences and other specialized shipments.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategic oversight, and collaboration with global stakeholders to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience within logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, courier, or supply chain operations.
• Proven experience managing multiple operational departments and leading high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of import, export, warehouse, and time-critical logistics operations.
• Experience supporting temperature-controlled, healthcare, pharmaceutical, biopharma, or specialized logistics solutions is desirable.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, costs, and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to Import, Export, and Warehouse Operations teams.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, SOPs, regulatory requirements, and QSHE standards.
• Drive customer satisfaction through consistent delivery of high-quality operational services.
• Develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures, training programs, and best practices.
• Lead and support internal and external audits, corrective actions, and compliance initiatives.
• Manage operational budgets and identify opportunities to improve profitability through cost-control measures.
