Job summary

Community Youth Center of San Francisco seeks an experienced Evaluation and Learning Director to lead impact measurement, program effectiveness, and a culture of continuous improvement. You will design evaluation frameworks, manage data collection, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for decision-makers.

The role reports to the Director of Operations and oversees budget, staff, data logistics, and reporting to funders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social services, research, or related field or minimum of three years’ experience in program evaluation, research, or data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies, program evaluation, and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software (SPSS, R, Stata).
• Experience with database design, workflow automation, and statistical tools.
• Experience creating user-friendly analytical reports and facilitating discussions on evaluation results for staff and board.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Exceptional project management and collaboration skills with ability to deliver on time and budget.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and working with diverse communities, including low-income youth.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive evaluation strategy to assess program effectiveness and organizational impact.
• Establish KPIs and data collection methodologies across organizational, programmatic, and individual levels.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses to evaluate outcomes and identify improvement areas.
• Ensure evaluation methods are culturally responsive and equity-focused.
• Foster a culture of learning, knowledge-sharing, and training.
• Translate findings into reports and data-driven recommendations for decisions and program improvements.
• Lead reporting to funders, boards, and partners; enhance data systems for evaluation.
• Collaborate with leadership and staff to align evaluation with organizational goals and growth.
