Job summary

Midwest Prototyping, a Prototek Company, is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead HR across multiple sites and partner with executive leadership, managers, and employees. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on advisory work to drive key HR initiatives and organizational change.

The successful candidate will manage workforce strategy, employee relations, and performance management while rolling up their sleeves to ensure initiatives are completed.

Qualifications

• BS in Human Resources, Business or related field.
• 10+ years progressive HR experience with 5+ years in management.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of employee relations, employment law, talent acquisition.
• Experience with performance management, compensation, benefits, payroll, and leave administration.
• Proficient in HR systems and workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the HR team and establish priorities with accountability. Partner with executive and operational leaders on workforce strategy and organizational needs.
• Lead complex employee relations matters, investigations and coaching.
• Drive performance management, compensation, benefits and talent initiatives.
• Support reorganizations, leadership transitions, workforce changes and other business transformations.
• Develop meaningful workforce metrics and translate data into practical recommendations.
• Manage HR vendors, budgets and external partners; travel to locations as needed.

Quick Summary

Prototek is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead HR across our multi‑site organization and serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership, managers and employees. This is not a purely strategic leadership position. We are looking for a hands‑on HR leader who is equally comfortable advising senior leadership, coaching managers through complex employee matters, leading organizational change, and rolling up their sleeves to ensure critical HR initiatives get completed.
