San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) seeks a Director of HR Strategy & Effectiveness to lead strategic HR initiatives and organizational performance. The role oversees staff relations, process improvements, and cross-functional programs across the district.

The strongest candidates bring 7–10 years of cross-functional leadership, analytics, and a background in education administration. Appointment is Permanent Exempt with a 3-year length.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, human resources, business administration, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Four years of professional experience in strategy and operations, human resources, organizational effectiveness, project or program management, change management, public administration, or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality customer service to all employees and handle elevated concerns.
• Design and implement employee experience systems from application through retirement.
• Lead end-to-end process improvement across HR and technology.
• Support strategic priorities and district-wide initiatives.
• Establish and manage the Division's performance management system.
• Develop cross-functional project plans, timelines, metrics, and accountability.
• Lead cross-departmental initiatives and align priorities.
• Build relationships with district leaders, staff, and community.
• Oversee tracking of district priorities and budgets.
