Position Summary

The Director of Environmental Services supervises housekeeping and laundry activities, maintains cleanliness, and ensures compliance with safety and health codes.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities
  1. Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the programs and activities of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments.
  2. Schedules work and manages personnel, including handling disciplinary actions.
  3. Evaluates work performance of staff and provides necessary training.
  4. Participates in planning in-service programs.
  5. Attends Department Head Meetings and committees.
  6. Orders and requisitions supplies.
  7. Manages budget planning and cost control for the departments.
  8. Orients new employees.
  9. Maintains required records.
  10. Assists staff during shortages.
  11. Ensures safety and compliance with legal and health standards.
  12. Delivers high-quality service to residents and families.
  13. Performs other duties as requested.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent, supervisory experience, and housekeeping/laundry experience.
Job Skills
  1. Good organizational skills.
  2. Knowledge of budget preparation.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Good physical health.
  5. Ability to interact positively with residents, families, and staff.
