Job summary

AtWork seeks an experienced System Director of Laundry & Linen Services to oversee operations across multiple facilities for a health system. The role emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and patient linen handling while leading a safe, efficient operation.

The director will manage production, inventory, transportation, and delivery; set procedures for sanitation and service quality; and lead staff through training, performance management, and safety education.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in commercial or healthcare laundry with leadership.
• Knowledge of laundry equipment, maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation standards.
• Experience managing budgets, inventory, and operational performance.
• Working knowledge of ERP tools, Microsoft Office, and linen management software.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily laundry and linen operations across facilities.
• Establish procedures supporting cleanliness, sanitation, safe handling, and consistent service.
• Lead and develop staff through hiring, training, performance management, and safety education.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and vendor interactions for linen, supplies, and capital equipment purchases.
• Manage the department budget, monitor costs, and identify efficiency/profitability opportunities.
• Track performance measures for safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and customer satisfaction; drive improvements.
• Oversee driver routes and logistics for reliable, efficient service.
• Build relationships with internal departments and external clients to grow the business.
• Ensure operations meet DOT, OSHA, The Joint Commission, and Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council requirements.
• Prepare reports and share operational and financial results with leadership.
