Job summary

CORE Linen on-site at a Birmingham-area hospital is seeking a Linen Manager responsible for the entire laundry and linen program across the facility, including ancillary areas. The role requires coordinating with the processing plant and hospital staff to ensure a steady supply of clean linen and uninterrupted service.

The position emphasizes leadership, scheduling, record-keeping, and adherence to HLAC, OSHA and JCAHO standards, with duties extending to onboarding staff and providing education

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
• Proven ability to multi-task and set priorities in a changing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of contract administration and office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assignment and scheduling of duties for distribution staff and soil collection associates.
• Manage receiving, recording, distribution and collection of linens to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and linen storage room.
• Ensure compliance with HLAC, OSHA and JCAHO guidelines.
• Maintain attendance, production and linen tracking records.
• Communicate with hospital departments to obtain feedback on linen services.
• Participate in linen program meetings and committees as needed.
• Interview and onboard new employees; supervise training.
• Provide educational guidance on proper linen utilization and report misuse or overuse.
