Job summary

Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA is seeking a Health and Wellness Director to lead health and wellness programs and inspire members to live healthier lives.

The role involves directing program activities, building partnerships with healthcare and referral networks, and managing staff and budget to ensure program quality and safety. The position emphasizes expanding engagement, retention, and senior-focused initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in kinesiology or related field or two years of health/fitness experience.
• Certifications in group exercise and personal training, or ability to obtain within first 3 months of employment.
• Two+ years of supervisory and staff recruitment experience in health and wellness preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to present orally.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and manages branch health and wellness programs in line with YMCA standards and safety procedures.
• Establishes relationships with public health, physician, payer communities and referral networks to promote programs.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises health and wellness staff and volunteers; evaluates quality and consistency.
• Manages department budget and daily operations to ensure financial stability and compliance with policies.
• Maintains records of staff certifications and promotes member engagement and retention.
• Plans, develops, promotes, and implements programs for active older adults; creates annual event schedules.
