Job summary

REGENT is redefining coastal transit with the Seaglider and is assembling a leadership team to scale hardware engineering from concept to production. The role centers on building leadership, mature processes, and scalable systems that support rapid, reliable delivery across programs.

You will partner with software, align capacity with program demand, and drive execution through certification and into manufacturing readiness, shaping a high‑performance engineering organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and Strengthen the Hardware Engineering Organization: Own the people, structure, and culture of a 30+ person hardware engineering organization spanning structures, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Coach and Develop Functional Managers: Invest in growth of managers and emerging leaders to build high‑performing teams with ownership and accountability.
• Own Delivery and Execution Rhythm: Establish operating cadences and decision processes to translate priorities into measurable progress.
• Mature Engineering Processes: Own configuration management, design reviews, documentation standards, release processes, and traceability for hardware and software.
• Build a Stronger Leadership Layer: Create systems and support for the next layer of leaders to scale the business with you.
• Partner Across Engineering: Work with software to align standards and ensure hardware/software integration.
• Align Capacity with Program Demand: Forecast headcount, balance near-term delivery with long-term health across programs.
• Drive Execution Across Programs: Synchronize hardware outputs with test campaigns, manufacturing readiness, and certification milestones.
