Job summary

The Sobrato Philanthropies seeks a Director, Grants Management to lead a two-person team and build scalable systems for grants management, compliance, and learning. Reporting to the VP, Finance and Operations, this role shapes strategy and directs processes across portfolios to support impactful, equity-centered grantmaking.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive grants management and people management experience.
• Experience in philanthropy including family foundations, private foundations, corporate philanthropy, and/or community foundations.
• Strong knowledge of legal requirements and compliance rules for private foundation grantmaking to domestic and international organizations.
• Demonstrated commitment to Sobrato Philanthropies’ mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Expert in forging grantmaking systems, compliance, strategies, and practices to advance grantmaking.
• Incubate and implement standardized, adaptive grant structures ensuring regulatory compliance and grantee-centered trust-based philanthropy.
• Lead Grants Management Team and evolve systems, processes, policies, and procedures across the organization.
