Serves as the College's primary resource for grant development and external funding, leading the identification, development, submission, administration, and management of grant opportunities that support institutional priorities. Responsible for coordinating all phases of the grant lifecycle, including proposal development, data analysis, compliance, reporting, and grant tracking, while providing guidance and technical assistance to faculty and staff and ensuring compliance with funding agency, College, and regulatory requirements.

- Serve as the College's primary resource for grant information, funding opportunities, and proposal development.
- Develop, research, write, edit, and submit competitive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation, and required data ensuring compliance with institutional policies, sponsor requirements, and funding agency guidelines.
- Collect, assess, and incorporate internal and external data necessary to support proposal development, funding requests, grant reporting, and performance measurement.
- Evaluate funding requests and opportunities, research supporting data and best practices; analyze funding agency’s requirements; determine alignment with college priorities and strategic goals.
- Demonstrate initiative and leadership in researching, identifying and securing alternative funding in support of academics, health sciences, workforce developmentprograms, student services, and community initiatives aligned with the College's mission, vision, values, and strategic goals.
- Serve as a point of contact for the College with external funding agencies and sources, including communication with program officers regarding proposal development, award requirements, grant modifications, and funding opportunities, and compliance matters.
- Serve as principal investigator (PI) or project manager for grant-funded projects as assigned by the President or designee.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive pre-award and post-award grant administration procedures, internal controls, and best practices, and grant management systems to support effective grants management throughout the grant lifecycle.
- Provide leadership, guidance, consultation and technical assistance for college grant development, proposal development processes, grant administration activities, and institutional funding initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective funding opportunities; monitor proposal activity, funding trends, application status, award activity, proposal success rates, and external funding outcomes to support strategic planning and continuous improvement of grant development efforts.
- Provide timely and accurate information regarding funding opportunities, eligibility requirements, application procedures, grant deadlines, and sponsor requirements.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to identify grant opportunities; develop grant concepts, project plans, budgets, proposal materials, performance measures, and competitive grant applications; secure institutional commitments; and coordinate required partnerships and matching resources.
- Coordinate pre-award and post-award grant administration activities, including review of award terms and conditions, negotiation of grant-related requirements as authorized, facilitation of award acceptance, and management and submission of sponsor reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of funding opportunities, grant submissions, awards, sponsor communications, reporting schedules, and grant outcomes; collect, maintain, analyze, and report programmatic, financial, and performance data required by funding agencies and College leadership.
- Coordinate the collection of information and submit designated interim, annual, final, and close-out reports for funded projects, working in collaboration with grant project staff and other responsible personnel to meet sponsor reporting obligations.
- Develop grant-writing resources and deliver training and professional development opportunities for college personnel.
- Support the College's established external funding objectives through successful grant development, proposal submission, grant administration, and award management activities.
- Ensure TRIO program compliance with federal regulations, grant requirements, reporting obligations, and institutional policies.
- Coordinate with TRIO staff to write grant proposals, submit required reports, monitor program performance and student outcomes, and support successful grant continuation and renewal efforts.
- Review grant award notices, terms, conditions, and compliance requirements; coordinate with appropriate College personnel regarding award implementation; and recommend and facilitate acceptance of grant awards on behalf of the College as authorized by the President or designee.

- Ensure compliance with all policies of the Board of Trustees, the Alabama Community College System, and the College.

- Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, technical writing, English, public administration, business, marketing or related field from an approved U.S. Department of Education accredited institution required. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Three years of directly related experience required
- Experience conducting research and analysis of potential funding sources required
- Experience in writing and developing successful grant proposals required, experience in proposal writing in government and/or private sector competitions preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and data reporting tools required. Banner and Argos preferred

SALARY
Salary Schedule C3,4, ($67,600 - $91,104) Based on the 2026-2027 ACCS Salary Schedules. Salary will be based on VERIFIED education and years of VERIFIED FULL-TIME directly related experience that is stated on the initial job application and resume.
