Job summary

Vizient is seeking a Director-level data engineering leader to design and deliver governed data solutions across enterprise analytics, reporting, and product workflows. You will lead a hands-on team, collaborate with Kaufman Hall, Data Governance, and Architecture, and translate business use cases into reusable data assets while ensuring security and governance alignment.

You will mentor engineers, drive performance, and partner with advisory leadership to meet client analytics needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading data engineering teams.
• Experience designing governed data solutions with Databricks and cloud data tech.
• Strong SQL, data transformation, modeling, and validation skills.
• Experience in governance, quality, lineage, access controls, security, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop data engineers and contributors.
• Partner with leadership to translate analytics needs into data solution plans.
• Define governed data access patterns with datasets and usage rules.
• Translate use cases into data personas, access levels, and solution patterns.
• Design and optimize data solutions using Databricks, SQL, and cloud tech.
• Create practical data documentation on lineage, grain, and retention.
• Collaborate with governance, security, and compliance teams to mitigate risks.
• Act as accountable technical partner for Advisory data-solution intake and delivery.
