Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the engineering and maintenance teams supporting assembly and packaging lines in a 24/7 GMP environment. You will provide strategic direction and manage a dynamic group, reporting to the Executive Director F&E.

This role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations and capital projects, with collaboration across Amgen’s network.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree with 4+ years in manufacturing, packaging or quality in pharma/biotech.
• Masters with 8+ years in manufacturing, packaging or quality in pharma/biotech.
• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years in manufacturing, packaging or quality in pharma/biotech.
• Must have 4+ years of people leadership/management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and maintenance teams for 24/7 GMP operations.
• Ensure safety and GMP compliance for staff and activities.
• Drive equipment reliability and capital project investments.
• Develop and monitor KPIs; manage budgets and timelines.
