Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington seeks a Sr. Education Abroad Director to lead the Education Abroad enrollment, advising, admissions, and scholarship programs.

You will oversee the student journey from first interest through departure, aligning staff with IU's global learning priorities. Based at Ferguson International Center, you will build strategic partnerships across IU campuses, manage budgets, recruit and develop teams, and drive outreach to expand access to transformative international

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in law, public health, public affairs, counseling, social work, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred in higher education student affairs or related field.
• 4 years in student services, higher education student affairs, or related field.
• 1 year of management experience in relevant field.
• 8 years in student services, higher education student affairs or related field.
• 4 years of management experience in relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Lead education abroad enrollment funnel from inquiry to departure, ensuring a seamless, student-centered experience.
• Report to the Associate Vice President (AVP) and serving as a member of the Education Abroad management team.
• Shape unit strategy, strengthen operational effectiveness, develop and support high-performing teams, and provide collaborative leadership.
• Provide strategic leadership for Education Abroad marketing, outreach, and student recruitment; develop, implement, and assess recruitment strategies.
• Collaborate with IU Global Marketing and campus partners to ensure coordinated, compelling outreach across the university.
• Lead IU's system-wide education abroad admissions, enrollment, student services, and scholarship functions and associated professional staff.
• Build and lead high-performing advising and student services teams through recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, coaching, and professional development.
• Establish clear goals and expectations, foster collaboration and accountability, and empower staff to innovate and grow.
