Job summary

MIXTECO INDIGENA COMMUNITY ORGANIZING PROJECT is seeking a highly skilled Fund Development Director to create and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies, leading the development team and collaborating with the Executive Director, Associate Director, and the Board to ensure robust unrestricted and program funding.

You will oversee grants, major gifts, donor relations, data management, and special events, with a focus on sustainability and growth for MICOP’s mission across California’s

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in fundraising software and database management.
• Understanding nonprofit financial management, able to monitor and meet income goals.
• Knowledge of ethical and legal standards in fundraising.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Knowledge of fundraising information sources.
• Able to pay close attention to detail and demonstrate ability to produce accurate work.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and Google Workspace.
• Able to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
• Identify and prioritize funding opportunities including individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundation grants, and events.
• Oversee grant-seeking process including research, proposal writing, and reporting.
• Identify grant opportunities and manage deadlines.
• Maintain and grow the organization's annual budget of 10 million.
• Ensure funds support current operations and expansions.
• Oversee major projects and new programs.
• Strategize for capital campaigns and endowment initiatives.
• Manage Planned Giving Program.
