Job summary

MICOP is seeking a Fund Development Director to lead fundraising efforts in Oxnard, CA. You will develop and execute strategies to secure unrestricted and program funds, manage a development team, and build strong donor and grantor relationships.

You will oversee events, planned giving, and communications, ensuring compliance and sustained funding for MICOP’s mission and programs. This is a full-time, exempt position based at our Oxnard office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5 years’ fundraising experience.
• Proven fundraising and grant writing experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with MICOP’s goals.
• Identify and prioritize funding opportunities including donors, sponsors, and grants.
• Oversee the grant-seeking process—research, proposals, and reporting.
• Lead donor relations and stewardship to grow unrestricted and program funding.
• Manage fundraising budget and financial reporting for sustainability.
• Oversee major fundraising events and capital campaign planning.
• Collaborate with Board and leadership for strategic planning and fundraising goals.
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and reporting requirements.
