Job summary
Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in San Jose is seeking a Director of Engineering for Firmware & Systems to lead the wireless engineering team feeding into multiple BUs. This role blends architecture leadership with hands-on design across firmware, hardware, and systems.
The ideal candidate has deep experience with MAC/PHY wireless protocols, system architecture, and cross‑geography team leadership (US and India). Expect to drive product architectures, design reviews, and innovative wireless solutions
Qualifications
- BS EE required; MS EE preferred.
- 20+ years in software/firmware leadership in wireless tech.
- Hands-on experience with IEEE802.11 MAC protocols.
- Experience with networking protocols.
- Experience with hardware bring-up and on-chip debugging.
- Leading teams across US and India.
Responsibilities
- Drive the system architecture and design for the wireless platform.
- Lead the software/firmware design and development across US and India locations.
- Work closely with senior leadership to plan new product introductions into market.
- Innovate new communications methods on top of unlicensed (ISM) bands.
- Drive system wide improvement from FEMs to Upper layer software.
