Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a senior in‑house attorney to own litigation matters, manage regulatory inquiries, and lead privacy and data‑protection initiatives. You will work directly with the executive team in a fully remote role across the United States, with a focus on BNPL, fintech regulatory environments, and AI governance.

You will build scalable playbooks, partner with privacy and compliance, and guide cross‑functional teams on complex legal questions while leveraging AI to enhance outcomes.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar in at least one US jurisdiction.
• 5–7 years of combined law firm and in‑house experience.
• Substantive consumer financial services experience (Reg Z, Reg B, FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, UDAAP).
• Demonstrated ownership of litigation matters and regulatory inquiries.
• Clear, direct writing with practical guidance.
• Experience using AI to enhance productivity and build workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead litigation and pre‑litigation disputes end to end, including strategy and discovery.
• Manage regulatory inquiries from federal and state authorities.
• Own privacy and data protection framework, including notices and data mapping.
• Build scalable AI tooling and governance to enhance legal operations.
• Counsel product, marketing, and engineering with practical, business‑driven answers.
