Job summary

Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, NC seeks a Director of Finance to lead the Business Office, modernize accounting systems, and build scalable financial processes for a 1,250-student PK–12 community.

The role oversees accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting, partners with the CFOO on multi-year modeling, audits, and board-facing summaries, and develops a high-performing finance team committed to accuracy and service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including leadership.
• Experience leading a financial system implementation or major process redesign.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting.
• Proven ownership of monthly/annual close, reconciliations, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of the school's accounting and finance function from assessment to implementation.
• Replace manual processes with automated, integrated workflows across GL, AP, purchasing, and budgeting.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounting records, month-end close, and financial statements.
• Collaborate on annual operating/capital budgets and multi-year financial modeling.
• Document internal controls and manage annual audits and related reporting.
• Prepare financial reporting for committees of the Board of Trustees.
• Develop the Business Office team and set service standards.
