Position: Director of Accounting

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Accounting to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance for a growing organization. This is a hands‑on, transactional role that requires a CPA and offers opportunities for process improvements and automation initiatives. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment and balances strategic oversight with day‑to‑day execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of general accounting, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, and revenue recognition.
  • Manage daily cash flow, borrowing, and treasury functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closes.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Lead the annual external audit process and ensure compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and other departments to support business initiatives.
  • Support ERP upgrades or system implementations impacting accounting workflows.
  • Conduct technical accounting research and prepare documentation as needed.
  • Monitor emerging accounting standards and assess their impact on the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s preferred.
  • CPA required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3‑5 years in a leadership role.
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal‑control frameworks.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
